Just a reminder of our ongoing "Distraction II" song contest! If you missed it, check out all the details below.
Now that "Distraction I" has been out for a few weeks, we're curious: What do you think "Distraction II" sounds like? We thought it would be fun if you showed us!
Whenever Wilderun creates a new song, the band makes a long and detailed list of orchestration and arrangement notes for each track, so we thought it would be a unique behind-the-curtain experience to release these time-stamped notes to you guys, and let it guide your imaginations as to what you think "Distraction II" sounds like. The 2nd graphic shows all the specific chords of the song, written out note-by-note, to give you all as much clarification as possible, especially if you are not familiar with specific chord names.
As a prize, we have constructed this one-of-a-kind cymbal-clock! This china cymbal was used on the recording of “Sleep at the Edge of the Earth”, “Veil of Imagination” & “Epigone” and is signed by Wilderun.
Have fun! Please feel free to change things up as much as you like. If you want to attempt to match the arrangement notes as closely as possible, that's cool, but don't hesitate to go off the rails and try different things, different sounds, and different genres, while maintaining the spirit of the notes we provided. We're excited to hear your creativity!
You can submit your song until January 7th under the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org
Please submit your file as a WAV, AIFF, or high quality MP3 and title your email as "Distraction II song contest submission"!
The winner will be announced via Wilderun on January 9th!
